About us

We are a couple located in Athens, Greece, working with the local community of all different nationalities, religions, and languages. Our goal is to love and respect others with the love of Christ. We come from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds, but we are united in Christ. Because of this, we are passionate about loving every nation.
God has blessed us with the closeness of a family, and serving together brings us joy. We believe it is important to work together and respect each other first in order to serve others well. Both of us have our own story and testimony, and we have seen the faithfulness of God displayed in our lives, and we simply want to share that with those around us.
Who we are:

Sharif Ahmadzai
Sharif came to Greece in 2016 and started serving people from every nation in Moria Camp and later Athens. Sharif strives to serve God and love others in his daily life in all he does.
Sharif has a passion for doing life with boys and young men- whether that is through boxing and fitness, teaching English, having discussion groups, or just hanging out, he builds relationships for the Kingdom. He is passionate about unaccompanied minor boys, because he knows what they are experiencing. You will always find him hanging out with one of the "boys."

Alaina Ahmadzai
Alaina came to Greece in 2016 to serve in Moria Camp and moved to Athens in 2019. She loves serving others and is passionate about sharing the Living Hope with those who are hopeless.
Alaina has a degree in Communication and is completing her Masters in TESOL. She wants to use that to help people find healing and freedom through telling their story and having the language to do so. As we listen to stories, we can set the ground for sharing the Gospel and finding God's hands through their journeys.
What we believe:
First and foremost we believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God. We believe that Jesus died for our sins, taking them from us, justifying us, forgiving us, and sanctifying us. We believe we are His beloved children.
Second, we believe in the faithfulness and provision of God. We believe He provides our every need, and the ability to help others with their needs. We have nothing without Him. He has blessed us with much so that we can bless others.
Third, we believe in the importance of serving and loving others as Jesus did. We believe we are to love and respect everyone, regardless of their race, nationality, religion, beliefs, lifestyle, sins, or situation. Jesus loved everyone, and we strive to do the same. We do not discriminate on who we will help.
These are just the three most basic points of our beliefs. If you have questions or want to know more, please feel free to contact us. We love to talk about Jesus.
Sharif and Alaina's Story

How God brought us together
In 2016, I went to Lesvos, Greece, with my family to volunteer in a migrant camp. Sharif was a translator for the organization we volunteered for. Sharif and I became friends, and I would continue making trips to Lesvos.
In 2017, Sharif became a Christian. When he got baptized, he sent me the video, and I rejoiced for my friend.
When I moved to Athens in 2019, Sharif and I would periodically get coffee together, but we were just friends. We were in different stages of life and not interested in each other at all. Looking back on it now, we laugh because he likes to tell me he really didn't like me then. That was a mutual feeling.
In May of 2021, that feeling went away. Suddenly I realized how much I did like Sharif. I had seen his growth and his heart for the Lord, and it was so attractive to me. We prayed and prayed about pursuing each other, seeking God's approval first. He seemed to swing open the doors for us.
There were challenges, and it definitely wasn't an easy road, but the Lord was faithful through it all, teaching us and drawing us together.
Around February of 2022, we began discussing marriage. We had both entered the relationship with intentionality; we both had the same heart and desire- to love the Lord and to serve people. We began to dream about what ministry together would look like, and then we began to do that. We started LEN together, and the Lord has placed many people in our paths to serve and love.
On May 26, 2022, Sharif proposed to me, and after a long and difficult legal process, we were finally married April 29, 2023.
Sharif and I appreciate your prayers and support as we begin life and ministry together. Our main prayer is that the Lord will be glorified in all we do.
