Sharif's Story

No matter how dark your story is, there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

When I was 15, I left my home and country in Afghanistan. Not a day goes by that I don't miss it. This is my story of leaving my country and coming to Greece. 

When I was 4, my father was killed by the Taliban. When I was 9, my older brother was kidnapped. When I was 15, my mom, sister, and younger brother were killed in a bombing. I was left totally alone. There was nothing left for me, so I decided to leave my country. I made it to Lesvos, Greece in 2016. 

Now, I live in Athens, Greece. I am finishing my education and running a small ministry organization to help serve families that have stories similar to mine. Everyone has a story, and everyone should be heard.
